Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At House of Reawaken, we believe privacy is more than a legal obligation — it is part of the relationship we build with every member.

We collect only the information needed to provide your Midlife Renaissance experience or, where you have chosen to participate, to contribute to Personal Intelligence research.

We deliberately avoid collecting information that does not serve either purpose.

Your reflections belong to you

Your morning and evening reflections, journal entries, Companion conversations, saved Oracle messages, and generated Mirrors are written for you and remain yours. Midlife Renaissance exists to support your journey, not to claim ownership of your experiences.

Authorship and AI-generated content

Anything you write inside Midlife Renaissance — reflections, journal entries, messages to the Companion — remains your intellectual property.

Responses generated for you by the AI (Oracle messages, Mirror Reports, Companion replies, Archetype reflections) are produced for your personal use within the sanctuary.

How your information is stored

Reflections and account information are stored in separate database tables and are not displayed together in normal day-to-day operations. Like most online services, records can be linked by an internal account identifier when required to provide the service to you.

Information is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our database provider. While no online system can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable steps to protect member information.

Data transmission to the AI

Midlife Renaissance uses the Lovable AI Gateway — the service that authenticates and forwards AI requests from Midlife Renaissance to Google Gemini — to generate Oracle messages, Companion replies, and Mirror Reports.

To generate these responses, the AI service receives the relevant prompt together with the prior reflection content needed for context (for example, recent reflections and themes for a Mirror). This context is sent only at the time of the request and is not retained by the AI service for re-use.

We do not use your reflections to train AI models

Midlife Renaissance does not send your reflections to any service for the purpose of training AI models. Our AI provider, Google Gemini, states that data submitted through their paid API is not used to train their foundation models. We rely on those upstream commitments and do not independently retain your reflections for training.

Personal Intelligence Research

Midlife Renaissance and House of Reawaken deliberately separate your personal experience from optional research participation.

Your Midlife Renaissance experience — including your reflections, Companion conversations, Oracle messages, Renaissance Mirrors, Mirror Digests and longitudinal insights — is generated solely to support your personal journey.

If you choose to contribute to Personal Intelligence research, House of Reawaken may also generate a separate set of anonymised research measures describing broad developmental patterns.

These research measures:

• contain no journals, Companion conversations, Monthly Mirrors or free-text reflections;

• are stored separately from your personal experience;

• are used only for approved Personal Intelligence research;

• are never sold or used for advertising.

Choosing not to participate in research does not change your Midlife Renaissance experience.

If you later withdraw your consent, your research records are permanently deleted while your own reflections, Mirrors, Mirror Digests and longitudinal publications remain unchanged.

Midlife Renaissance does not browse the internet on your behalf

The Companion and Oracle operate inside the Midlife Renaissance experience itself. They do not search the web, read social media, or access any external accounts on your behalf.

We do not sell your data

House of Reawaken does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and does not share it with third parties for advertising.

Human access to your reflections

House of Reawaken employees do not routinely read member reflections. During the beta period, a small number of authorised members of our team may view generated Mirror Reports and aggregate activity for product quality, safety, and to improve the experience. This access is role-restricted and limited to what is necessary.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Sanctuary → Privacy & Data. Deletion removes your profile, reflections, journal entries, Companion history, saved Oracles, generated Mirrors, uploaded photographs, and sign-in record from our active systems. Residual copies may remain in encrypted infrastructure backups for a short period before being overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

Exporting your information

You may download a copy of your account data at any time from Sanctuary → Privacy & Data. The export is a single JSON file containing your reflections, journal entries, Companion exchanges, saved Oracles, and generated Mirrors.

Privacy Breaches

While no online system can guarantee absolute security, we take privacy seriously. If we become aware of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will respond promptly, notify affected members where required, and meet our obligations under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

If Midlife Renaissance ever closes

If we ever needed to close Midlife Renaissance, we would provide reasonable advance notice — at least 30 days where practicable — and the export functionality above so you can keep your own record of your Renaissance.

Technology partners (sub-processors)

Midlife Renaissance is built on Lovable Cloud (Supabase) for database, authentication, and storage; the Lovable AI Gateway for routing requests to Google Gemini; and Cloudflare for hosting and edge delivery. A current list of sub-processors is available on request.

Some of our technology partners operate internationally, meaning information may be processed outside New Zealand as part of providing the Midlife Renaissance service.

Updates to this page

As Midlife Renaissance evolves, we may update this page to reflect changes to our technology, privacy practices, or legal obligations. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate them clearly.
